Through this program, students will: define their life mission; enroll in a college that is a good fit; and develop leadership, life, and relational skills in order to thrive in college and accomplish their life mission. Students who complete the program receive a $1,000 college scholarship.

What is REACH?
REACH is two-year enrichment and college advising program for high school juniors and seniors. Through this program, students will: define their life mission; enroll in a college that is a good fit; and develop leadership, life, and relational skills in order to thrive in college and accomplish their life mission. Key elements of REACH include: weekly workshops, mentoring, a supportive and diverse cohort, SAT prep, college advising and career exploration. After successfully completing REACH and enrolling into a 2 or 4 year college, students will be eligible for a $1,000 college scholarship.

What are the requirements?

Students should:
• Be juniors in the fall of 2009
• Have a 2.0 minimum GPA
• Have a desire to graduate from college
• Have completed and passed the following high school courses:
1 Science course, 2 English courses, & Algebra 1
• Be registered for the following:
1 Science with lab, 1 Foreign Language, 1 Social Students course
• Sign a contract agreeing to fulfill the REACH expectations:

Meetings:

REACH meets weekly from 4-6pm, starting the end of September 2009. These sessions will take place throughout the students’ junior and senior year. There are two days/ locations to choose from:
1) Mondays: Central Square (for directions, click here)
